Our staff strive hard to encourage children to develop these values through the work they complete and the way we interact with our students. The other development for all students is the challenge to “Be Better” Kia Kaha Ano!
In students speak we say to the children
Partnership – We work together!
Quality – We do our best!
Respect – We use our manners!

Tue Aug 02 10:44amPower off again. Grrrrrrr. EA networks cannot give us a time so we are back to old school teaching at the moment. We are doing our best and assessing a dynamic situation but will aim to continue through the day. I am trying to talk with the MOE about their advice. Week 9 Update
Tue Jun 28 11:04amGood morning everyone.
Week nine is upon us and a reminder we finish school next Thursday July 7th. Friday July 8th is a Teacher Only Day for Curriculum Development.
The term has been challenging with illness and right now we still have lingering COVID cases, chickenpox, flu and vomiting. We had 53 children away yesterday and appreciate the challenge that adds to you with managing work commitments and care.
We will have another Coffee catchup Tuesday July 5th at 9am for those who wish to have a catch up and chat about anything at all. Last time we had 2 parents join us and we shared some of the Emotional regulation work with them. This will be in the staff room and we encourage you to join us for a relaxed chat and dialogue. This is about offering a space to talk about whatever you feel we need to discuss.
This week we have senior children taking part in EPro8 challenges in the library. This is a Technology challenge that involves thinking and creating solutions. Thank you to Mrs Jenkins for looking after this.
Well done to Alice Roberts who ran in the ChCh Cross Country and also to our Basketball team in Year 7-8 for another win last night. Our Year 5-6 Rippa team qualified and played in Oamaru last week and represented the school well with 2 wins and 2 losses. Thank you Mr D for your support and planning. Our Year 7-8 class have a visit to Kirwee Bees this Friday and we also have an AKO assembly at 2.15pm on Friday July 1st.
July 7th will also be a full school assembly day at 2.15pm and we will hold our “Soup and Kahoot” night that evening July 7th. That will start at 6pm and we would appreciate any support with soup if you can help with a pot . We will have bread rolls and polystyrene cups available.
Mid Term comments will be out on HERO by the end of the term and that will be the fourth comment this year as well as the interviews that have just finished. Please contact the teachers if you have any questions about your child’s progress and achievement.
Thank you all for being a critical part of our school culture. We value your input.
regards Mark

Coffee Catch up Tuesday 21st June
Thu Jun 16 10:47amHello to all.
Tuesday June 21st is chance for a coffee catch up from 9am in the library or staff room. Pre schoolers welcome. No real agenda other than some updates on Emotional regulation and what we are doing. I just hope this grows into a safe place and time for chats about school, life in general and how we can all help our children grow.
Please come along and bring a friend. Maybe an hour or so. No pressure but just time to have some dialogue. All welcome. You may even meet someone new.
Reminder – we close at 1pm Tuesday 14th. This is for interviews. Thank you for your understanding

School Support Thank you
Mon Jun 13 10:51amSchool Support Group Thank You
A huge Thank you to those people who helped at the 3 recent catering events that school support were involved in, and also to those of you who provided food or money to help with costs.
Last week saw those of you who supported the meat fundraiser receive your meat so we hope that you enjoy that and thank you.
If you have some spare time on a Friday at lunch time we are needing people to cook and hand out the sausages, it would be about 1 ½ hours. Please contact Natasha Baxter if you can help out on 0274550807. If we don’t get enough help then we may have to rethink whether we have it next term.
The next school support meeting is to be held on Monday the 20th of June, 7.30pm at the Railway Tavern, anyone is most welcome.
Thank you Clare Stewart

Very soon we will be trialling a Pilot programme at school with Mrs Tracey Atkinson that involves some Equine Education. She has a pony named Frisby who has been a cart pony and we will be looking to have him at school with Mrs Atkinson to introduce some children to him and to feed him, brush him and care for him at school. This will support their emotional regulation and we are excited to look outside the traditional box to provide for our students. He will not be ridden or left alone in his yard when it is built. If you interested in helping then please let school know.
